Almost Famous Typography Book

Publication

An expressive typography book reimagining the script of Almost Famous (2000).

Almost Famous follows 15-year-old William Miller as he goes on tour to write a Rolling Stone cover story about Stillwater, an up-and-coming band in the rock scene of 1973. The story is told using chosen typefaces for William, Penny, and Russell, the three main characters, reflecting their unique personalities.

Throughout the book, I replicated William’s notebook pages to break up each chapter, using stills from the movie to capture the same details. The cover uses a cassette tape label to allude to William’s recorded interviews with the band.
